My Magnetic Bromance

Bromance

This is a guest post by my good porteño friend, Carlos Miceli from OwlSparks. Carlos writes about philosophy, marketing, ambition and anything else that comes within range of his rapid-fire analysis, and as part of our bromance blog exchange, I also wrote a guest post for his blog entitled Bonding by Being Tied. Happy New Year!

If there’s one person in my life that has proven the power of magnetism, that person is Colin Wright.

This guy has improved my life in so many ways, I just had to tell him to crash at my place for as long as he wanted when he was coming back to Buenos Aires. From introducing me to a world of ambitious and powerful contacts, to giving me his books and hair products, to inviting me into a world of VERY beautiful women, getting to know him had an amazing impact in my life.

And none of this would have happened if we weren’t magnetism believers. This means that we trust that by doing what we want, however unconventional it may be, you will always find someone else going through the same thing. The world is so big and connected, magnetism has never been so powerful.

Don’t keep yourself from following whatever path you want, because you will get help along the way. Magnetism will make things work out.

Magnetism is the new thing.
…is the concept that has to be in every ambitious, world-changing and over-achieving mind.
…is the spiritual comfort that only today’s technology and connectivity can provide.
…is the philosophy that will get you through every moment of uncertainty,
…is the mental place to retreat when faith is all you have.

Most importantly, magnetism will get you a place to crash, or a date with a Russian model.

Right on the money, and couldn’t be more true.

Including that bit about the dates with Russian models. Who knew?

Short but sweet. Humorous with a tinge of irony. I like.

And this magnetism theory… So it’s just like total self-trust and also a trust that you’ll run into like-minded people? It’s a fool’s mate. You do what you want, you meet cool people, life is good, right?

It’s great to appreciate your friend :) He sounds like a great guy. If Colin is the guy on the left, then he definitely has awesome hair!

Sounds very Law of Attraction. Very encouraging, thanks. I believe the only one that stops us is ourselves…(that reads weird).

Nice short post, but with lots of meaningful stuff – i like!

I definitely agree! This thought has gotten me by many uncertain/lonely nights. I truly do believe the cosmos can align for me in that way. Not that I’m the center of the universe, but that there are so many connections you can make that you’re bound to find likeminded people. And that’s not lonely, that’s comforting.

Russian model? Son, Brazilian models are where it is at, trust me.

Ok, Colin with his shirt on is making me feel funny, Is that wrong? It is right? Yeah I thought it was.

@amber: where would the world be without the bromance?!

@Will: it really is amazing, the kinds of opportunities that arise from the magnetism between people.

@Brett: you’ve got the gist, I think. I tend to live my life the way I want and based on that people are attracted to me and I’m attracted to people (meaning socially, not sexually) based on how they do the same, their ambitions, etc etc etc.

@Steven: Haha, thanks! I’m actually in desperate need of a haircut at the moment…it’s kind of taking over my head this past week or so.

@Lis: It’s true, though…you’re the only one that can keep the like-minds from coming your way. We live in the future! The days of the Internet! If there is someone out there that you would get along with, chances are you’ll cross each other’s path…it’s just a matter of whether or not you’ll take advantage of the meeting or not.

@Anthony: That’s how Carlos does it; short, sweet and thought-provoking.

@floreta: Yup, it’s just a matter of letting it happen and doing what you can to put yourself in a favorable position for when it DOES. If you make your personal brand clear and concise, for example, you’ll up the chances that someone will be magnetically drawn to you (and vice-versa, since you’ll have a clearer idea of who you are and who you’d like to meet).

@Jonny: Haha, I’ll remember that when I’m passing through Brazil later this month! And don’t worry, I have that effect on people – mostly guys – when I’m topless ;)

@Brett

Well, if you are looking for people like you, and they are looking for people like them, and you and them are similar, it only makes sense that in today’s world, giving that distance is no longer an issue, you will run into each other.

@Floreta

No need to define it. The reason is irrelevant, choose whichever you find comforting. What matters is that reality is letting it happen. It’s no longer a fantasy.

@Jonny

I hear ya on the Brazilian models.

this is a FANTASTIC post and just what the doctor ordered. it hit the spot! funny thing is, i was just posting on another blog about how it helps to know that you’re not alone in the world: in your struggles, in your ambitions, in anything. “magnetism,” or serendipity or the law of attraction – is always at work. thanks for reminding us!

Hot guys. Chilled wine. Shirts off and Russian models. I am magnetically attracted to Buenos Aires right now.

Seriously though (or about as much as I ever am), I’m not one for the Law of Attraction, but at the base level of ‘hey, I’m really into this’ attracts ‘hey, me too!’ I have to agree.

Meeting both of you guys has definitely inspired a very big (though challenging) movement forward in my life. So yeah….thanks…sorry I’m not a bro and can’t participate in the bromance. You guys seem to do quite a job of working that on your own though :)
